Tips to manage your time easily- begin at daybreak!

All of us are racing against time, 24 hours never seem enough. Irrespective of what our routines are at some point in time on any given day we heave a sigh to say “Wish I had more time”.
It is very little you can do to turn around time, except to begin planning your day ahead diligently. A plan in place for the tiniest task to the most difficult task in an average day can make a world of difference. You discover that there is time for leisure too! Not herculean, make a change. Begin right away.
Here are some tips you can use to manage your time-
  1. Go early to bed and wake up on time. Now, this may be a little tough to start with, try and stick to a particular bedtime and religiously wake up earlier to start the day on a more peaceful note.
  2. What we don’t realize is the fact that most of us are not organized about our tasks in a day. Start your day with a morning cup of tea and a scribbling pad and pen. Sit and note down all that you need to do for the day. Begin with a list first. At the least, you know that you have not forgotten something to panic about later on.
  3. Tick off the tasks you have completed and be conscious of the time consumed for each task. It may be your time in the kitchen, in the garden, driving to a grocery store just anything. Be aware of how much time you take for each task.
  4. Do not have the habit of multitasking too many chores; you will fall flat at one point of time or the other. Multi-tasking if overdone does not help you complete a particular chore fully. You will wind up redoing the whole task. Avoid too many distractions especially while you cook or sit with the kids.
  5. Mobile phones and the internet are major sources of distraction today. Keep both of these at bay when you have tasks that need your complete attention.
  6. Remember that when you concentrate on finishing one task at a time, as days go by you find yourself finishing them faster and more efficiently.
  7. If you have kids around in the house, double up and plan their stuff the previous night. Therefore with respect to them, you are already prepared for what to do. Now that’s one ticked off your list just as you wake up.
  8. Ensure that you take some time for yourself at some point in time in the day, it helps you plan for the next day and you work more efficiently.

Routine and time management can get to you; a religious planning exercise is what will get you through each day smoothly. If you have not yet thought about this, it is high time you did.
